Call for Papers
JEPR invites submissions for Volume 2 (2027) and later issues. Submissions are accepted continuously, and accepted articles are published in the next available issue.
What we look for
Clear, assessable contributions on how incomplete, conflicting and underdetermined evidence is represented, measured and used in decisions by human or artificial systems. We welcome relevant formal results, empirical studies, replications, reanalyses, methodological resources, tutorials, registered reports and negative findings. Submissions examine when epistemic distinctions preserve information, predict behaviour or improve decisions, and when they fail or add no practical value. Relevant literature, appropriate comparisons and supporting artefacts are required according to the claim.
Topics
- Semantics of typed indeterminacy: annotated, paraconsistent, many-valued and evidence-based logics; logics of evidence and truth; four-valued and bilattice semantics.
- Abstention and risk-coverage: selective prediction and reject options, evaluated through risk-coverage behaviour.
- Disagreement as signal: human label variation, annotator disagreement and the difference between insufficient and contradictory evidence.
- Belief revision and epistemic update: operators for belief change and the conditions under which they predict observable behaviour.
- Audit of uncertainty frameworks: reproducible reanalyses of how uncertainty frameworks are applied in practice.
- Decision under indeterminacy: aggregation and decision methods that use indeterminate or conflicting evidence, compared fairly with appropriate alternatives, including classical and probabilistic baselines where relevant.
- Negative results: distinctions that do not separate anything under measurement, reported with full rigour.
- Evidential reasoning in educational and social measurement: expert judgement for instrument validation, multi-assessor rubrics, perception surveys that separate indifference from ambivalence, Delphi studies and evidence coding in reviews, with real data, a comparison with the standard tool and the decision rule fixed in advance.

- Check that the manuscript fits the Aims and Scope.
- Prepare it with the JEPR template following the Author Guidelines.
- Prepare the data and code as described in the Data and Code Policy.
- Register on the site and submit.
